The Research
ACI-CIMAP’s research is titled the “Identification and Selection of THC, CBD, Cannabinoid Terpene THCa rich strains/lines/genotypes supp.”. Till date this is the only Cannabis related study that has been sanctioned and been granted licenses from all the relevant Governmental authorities in India to legally grow Cannabis for research.
Our study also focuses on development of suitable agro-technology for yield of flower at different stages of plant growth for THC, CBD, cannabinoid terpene and THCa rich strains/lines and genotypes. This is extremely useful to gauge the basal and extreme environments for the plants optimal growth among other interesting factors we have discovered.
Initial Results of Research
- Over 150 different cannabis genetics are being foraged
- Many indigenous strains have been discovered
- Due to the laws in India at present we are focussed only on working with strains that contain less than 0.3% THC are in the final stages of Research and Development to readied for commercial launch
- 3 strains are ready for commercial launch
- We also now possess one unique and exceptionally high indigenous CBD strain, to help pain relief. It also works as an anti-inflammatory and anti-depressant.
